Can you tell he's walking?

People must have been pretty upset before the invention of the video fact, I bet it was a parent who was trying to figure out how to capture an image of their kid taking their first steps. In any case, Mason started walking last week and apparently he's running too (sorry no photos of that). Fortunately we have a movie camera on our digital camera (Canon PowerShot SD400 Elph) so it was easy to switch between taking pictures and video. Isn't he the cutest?

The Uncooperative Baby...
All I wanted was a cute picture of Mason with a Santa hat on near the Christmas tree....not too much to ask I thought. Apparently Mason thought so...he crawled away from the tree and yanked his hat off every chance he got. And the best picture ended up was taken with the carpet as the focal point. How did that happen? I guess I'll have to try again.

I just ran out to the store...

I put Brig in charge for an hour while I ran out to the store...and I came home to find Mason and Brig both in front of the TV. I guess the high chair was for snacks...but it was too cute to not take a picture...and in case you're wondering...that's the USC vs. Notre Dame game they're watching.

Mason gets a bath...

This actually is a regular occurrence around here...we just haven't put pictures up. There are some more racy shots of him...but we're saving those for when he'd get embarassed by what we post out here.

Teething rings...

Who knew that Black Diamond made teething rings. Mason has three and half teeth...with two more on the way...these are helping get them here...
Rebel without a Tooth

Mason got a new belt buckle and a new pair of kicks. He had to go all Jolly Roger Style, but the Chucks give him game.

How did I end up here...

While Mason was playing he crawled into the basket where we store his toys and he somehow managed to upright the basket. He looks particularly pleased with himself. It might be due to the fact that there are toys in the bottom of the basket...

This is the plumbing I did for our water softner. I think it turned out pretty well. Considering... It only took about 8 hours to put this thing together.

My Wife Rocks...!

Nothin' says lovin' like a caribiner bow on a present.

Even though I haven't opened this yet, I'm pretty sure that it is the "CARS" dvd. All of the plates and napkins were cars.

Mason is ready to celebrate his 1st Halloween...

We went to a Halloween party on Saturday night and Mason got to wear his Monkey costume.

Check out more cute photos of the little guy from this month (October 2006).

Something I learned from my Dad...

Here Mason shows off his ability to dig through the laundry basket and manages to unfold everything in less than 10 seconds....hmm...I wonder who taught him that?

Who needs tv when you can watch the world...

Mason is pulling himself up on everything. He can even pull up to a standing position...the only problem is that he sometimes forgets that he hasn't mastered standing and so he falls when he lets go. Here he is in his favorite watching spot. These windows are just his height and he love to look out into the world and see the exciting happenings. I still haven't figured out what he looks at, but whatever it is, it keeps him entertained for about 5 minutes.

A Buckeye in Husker country...

Part of the problem of having your school colors match Husker red is that many people assume that you are rooting for Univ of Nebraska. Not true in our house...even Mason got in on the Buckeye fever with his very own jersey. So can you guess who we cheer for?? Here's a hint...the right colors are apparently scarlet and grey.

Anyone Up for a Trip to the Crag?

Mason is on his way to climb El Capitan...! He crawled around with some of my gear for about 10 minutes. I tried to load the video, but couldn't figure out how to do it.

He somehow got his arm and head thru the sling, but couldn't figure out how to get it off. Of course I was not encouraging him to remove the gear, that was his mom.

Stephanie grounded Mason from playing with climbing gear until he is 2. Or she grounded me from letting him play with climbing gear until he is 2, I forget which it is.

I have never been so proud.

Smiles + Rolly Polly = Mason

He just turned six months old and is already a very busy little guy. He can army crawl and won't stay still long enough to get his diaper changed.

Here he and Brig are smiling after a fun Saturday at the zoo (even if it was pouring rain).

And for those of you wondering, at Mason's six month appointment he weighed over 20 lbs.

How many of us can still do this?

Mason found his feet a few weeks ago and has now combined that new skill with his love for putting everything in his mouth. Just before this picture he was practicing sitting up...he's gettting pretty good at it too.

Mason at 5 Months...

So I took tons of pictures of the little guy today...just a week after he turned 5 months old...go to for more. (I think you'll need to paste that address into your browser.)

Mason discovers Riley...

We missed the action, but Mason loves to pet Riley. Riley doesn't mind when Mason grabs ahold of his ears either.

Getting spoiled....

Michelle and Mark came into town for a week and we were busy. Brig was busy with work and we were out checking out the hot spots around town.

Mason and Michelle pose for the camera.

Money Shot...!

This is no April Haymore Photography (see link on right for good photography, April even made my gut look classy in the information/ clients section #2) but this is still pretty good stuff.

Finally, no "Leisure Suit Larry" motif, no goofy "chick hat" (see zoo pics below) faux-pas.

This is classic American, fun-in-the-sun Beach Boys, I'm gonna catch a wave (and a Little Surfer Girl) good times.

This is Daddy's boy.

I got a new intern. he is not very good at making copies, or bringing me drinks, but he does an excellent slobber shine on my shoes, maybe a little too excellent.
Super (not so solid) Solid Food...!

How anti-climactic was that... His first solid food, was so watered down it should have come with a disclaimer.

However, this was an exciting day.

So many little time

We just set up the exersaucer this week and Mason loves it. He can turn himself around to see all the toys and he usually plays with them all.

Reading together...
Right now Brig is reading The Fountainhead, but he took a break to read That's not my Lion with Mason.  Posted by Picasa
Wannabe...Koa thinks he is a small dog, he even tries to sit in our laps. Here he is wearing Riley's coat. I can't tell if he is happy or not, but this coat fits Riley much better.

Mason's blessing are some photos of his big day
