Is it January? ...
You can tell by our activities this morning -- it definitely is winter in January; however, did you check out Brig's snow gear? Or wait, his lack of snow gear? Brig went out to face the elements wearing shorts, flip flops and a jacket (which he put on after I asked him to, I don't think he really wanted to). The shoes are in addition to what he wore last night (thats right, he shoveled snow barefoot). I had to photograph it. I couldn't help it. And it only took him 5 minutes to shovel the driveway.

And just in case you are wondering what it is like today, it's about 24 degrees outside. I'd also like to point out that our next door neighboor was out shoveling at the same time wearing: a hat, ski googles, a jacket, snow pants and boots.

Mason's First Haircut...

We decided that his hair was starting to border on the baby mullet look and so I sucked it up and let his hair get cut. It really was thicker than you'd expect (which is why I didn't cut it myself...it needed to be blended to avoid the bowl cut look). He was a wiggle worm and his hair was so fine that there wasn't even a lock of hair to be had. I looked too. There was more hair on my sweatshirt than on the floor and there wan't much of that either.

O H
I O ... Mason is getting ready for the big game tonight. We have been practicing raising both hands like a referee to show a touchdown, although he didn't want to do it for the camera. Instead he wants to show you...We're number 1! Go Buckeyes.

Mason's First Christmas...
A good year for Mason. No coal in his sock. Although, Mason wasn't a fan of opening presents. He usually loves tearing and crumpling paper...but I think it is only with paper that I need for something--otherwise he is not interested. But he does like all his new toys. I think he may have doubled the number of toys he plays with after all the loot he scored. And how can I forget to mention the boxes they came in...another hit!

Baby went boom...

So it didn't take too long for Mason to fall and get a cut that required stitches. We got to make our first visit to the emergency room. At the emergency room the Doctor decided to glue it together (good thing Brig didn't suggest that...I don't think I would have gone for an at-home glue job). But we had to hold him still and he did not like that at all. He screamed and screamed and got lots of blood in the glue. So for a 10 days he walked around with this nasty bloody glue spot on his eyelid...and for all his Christmas pictures.
